Lyn's final top without borders...

I am glad she saved the best for last.  This is a wonderful rendition of home.  I see Grandma's pine trees along the driveway, the corral/garden, our house, and the horse pasture.
Love it!

Lyn's Winter Mystery - almost there

Lyn has had her block finished for several weeks but has had no way to get it posted.  Isn't it beautiful?
Below is the whole block.
Here is where it goes with the entire quilt.

Lyn's Small Town Winter Caught Up

Here is what she did:
She made half yo-yo's on the silos. She paper peiced the yellow house. To follow the Buggy Bard pattern, she created a tractor. She also wrote 2011 on the silo by embroiding.

Lyn's Small Town Winter

I am posting this for her as she doesn't do blogger.  Lyn has completed and added rules 8, 9 & 10.

Rule 8 is the block with the yellow house, brown tree, and rock piller fence posts placed in the lower right.

Rule 9 features more of the lake, the mountain behind it, pine trees, and embroidery work so show more backgrouond hills.  For the 3-D portion of the rule she added black colored birds flying above the pine tree on the right.

On rule 10 she tried to do the disappearing 9 patch in the sky and then changed it because it looked too boxy for clouds and sky.  She did the folded inserts on her clouds.  They are difficult to tell that they are folded inserts because she did such a fine job of stitching down the fold, but they are the long skinny clouds.  Don't they look great and oh so clever?

Lyn's Block

Here is Lyn's 3 dimentional block. As you can see she pieced a house to show the 3-D rule. Her block is really turning out really neat. She is staying true to her theme.

Lyn's Block

Lyn made a road to represent the curve piecing. She made a house for the building.

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Lyn pieced a half circle to make the top of the silo. She created a zig-zag pole fence on left to add a different look. The blue at the top is the start of the lake she is adding. She embroidered the brown bushes at the top.

Lyn's Rule #4

Lyn made a haystack, fence, and gate.  She also added some trees along her road on rule #3 and a new pine tree that overlaps onto rule #2.   She needle-turned the tree trunks, haystack, and pine tree.  The positive/negative is in the gate.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Lyn's least favorite color is red so she chose to make a red truck. She embroidered the wire on the fence and the lines in the road. She appliqued the road, truck, and fence.

Hello from Lyn

Lyn says hello and wants to announce that her theme is "Small Town Winter".  She has been in awe at the beauty of winter all around her and hopes to capture it in this quilt.  She is also very excited to get started on this project.

Lyn is a daughter of Dorinda as well.

P.S. She doesn't have the internet and has asked that I post this for her.
