I love it!

Americana Quilt sewn together.  I do not have room to add the mountains.
All it needs is a border.

Yankee Doodle Star and the Big one

This was a new technique for me and I love it.  So fun to do.  I am still waiting to see how I will add the borders to this block.

This is what happens when you are baby sitting grandchildren and you let them sit on your lap.  You forget to look at the directions  and when you realize what you have cut out and sewn it's hard to unpick so many blocks.  such is life!

Freedom Lane

This row took  the longest so far but it was well worth it.  I had to redo the cemetery since it would not fit into my other rows. I am only doing a sample quilt.  And that took some doings.  Other than the church front I am pleased with the outcome, but after making three church fronts I opt to keep the last one.

Wow, I am amazed at how nice this turned out.  I was apprehensive at first.  Thanks Deanna.  Glad to be finished with them though.

My Country Tweet Tweet Tweet!

These were so fun to sew up.  I did not put any birds in simply because I do not where I want them yet.  I am not making a queen size quilt but a small one so I only wanted three birdhouses and the sashing is not sewn in yet since I don't know how long I want the blocks sewn together to be.
What I have seen so far in the posts have been beautiful.  Other's projects of the stars, flags, birdhouses are awesome!  thanks for sharing.

American rows 1 and 2

Here are the first two rows.  The 5 upper stars blocks are not sewn together yet.
sorry, I can't get the picture to go larger and I don't have time to keep playing with it.

Quilters Garden is ready for qulting. This will just be a small quilt to display on my sewing wall.

The Quilter's Story:
We shop at the Quilt shop lane, cut out the material into pieces, pin it together

Then we sew up the strips, iron the seams and piece them together.

Last comes washing and hanging them out to dry in our lovely garden

At last we yield a very beautiful quilt to showcase .
( Of course the binding  needs to be added and then quilted.  That will come ...who knows when).

I also sent my block to Vickie in Salina.  Sorry I forgot about it and started on another project.

Block to swap- fence line

So I finally made it.  I wasn't procrastinating, just too many other projects that took precedent.
I really do plan on adding some birds, and/or kites, flowers, airplanes, etc., before I send this off,
but I don't have the time right now.

It has been so fun to swap these blocks.  Looking forward to the next project Deana has for us.
But I do need a break so I'm glad she is holding off till late summer.

In all honesty, I have loved ALL of the blocks that I have received.
I hope I can get them in the rows soon and finish the quilt.

Pin cushions

I have decided this new phone does not take the best pics Here are my two pincushions that I will swap.  The  "between" block that goes with the pincushion is directly under the one I want it to be sent with.  Looking forward to the last row and then what could "she" possibly have in store for us for the border?  I'm hooked!

three more blocks to show off

These are the pics that I will keep.  Once again the pics are distorted and cloudy.
I have put the blocks that I have ready together and they look great.

Shop block swap

This is the block that I will be exchanging.  I wanted to keep it but....I loved doing this row.  I think it has been my favorite.  Sorry the picture looks a little cloudy.

new blocks to send of come January

I tried a different approach on getting these pics to the blog.  I'm still learning.  The colors are a little different than the original.  I have made 10 blocks but will send these 4.

PHYLLIS my block has arrived

Yes Phyllis, this is my local post office. It is about 1/2 a km from my house. But we get that size mail delivered to us. It was in the letterbox when I came home today.
For everyone else who is a bit confused, Phyllis, has checked up where I live.
It is a nice part of central Victoria, Australia. 1/2 an hour North of the Melbourne Tullamarine airport.
Have a look at Hanging Rock, Woodend.
http://www.mountmacedon.org.au/places/hanging-rock-reserve
There is a movie called PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK
This is about 7 minutes from me. We are lucky to have lots of wineries in the area as well.

ANYWAY, I RECEIVED MY ROTARIES IN BLOOM BLOCK TODAY.
thankyou Phyllis it is lovely and fits so well with my other blocks.

Steam that seam -iron 1

This was by far the funniest, fastest, easiest row yet.  And its not even the middle of the month!  I already have three finished.  Life is good!
Deana, I would prefer that I receive a right handed iron in return.  I would like all my irons going the same direction.  Thnks .  You are amazing!

Blocks sent and received - Phylis

I don't know what happened but my post from 9 days ago is not there.  I did send my blocks to Australia and California on Oct 2nd.  And I have recieved both of my blocks.  One last week from Lyn and today I got the one from Julie from California.  they are both perfect!  I really do enjoy this swapping.
