September and October rows

When I received the blocks from the September swap, I got blocks from #1 and #3 patterns. I wanted to have one of each, so made a #2 and a #4 to go with them, then sewed them together. Buttons will go where there are no knobs. (the #2 block I measured wrong and so had to add another strip to the top left, so it looks a little different than the original pattern. :-) ). The #3 block is a beautiful green, but it just does not show up well in the picture.
The October row is also missing the centers until the quilt is complete. Don't want to add them until it is quilted.
I am excited to get the November drawing and sharing done and the December instructions and blocks. Those will be added as the time comes. Now I have to decide what to put as spacers between the rows. Such a variety of colors will need some contemplation to choose what will enhance the blocks.

October Swap is here!

The information for the swap is below.  Please try to mail your blocks before Monday the 9th of November and earlier if it is going to or from Canada or Australia.

Let's get those Rotaries in Bloom swapped!  Thanks to all who participated!

I used Random.Org to generate the numbers in random order and matched them up with your first names listed alphabetically.  Here are the results!

Here are the numbered blocks.  If the pictures are too large for your screen just click on them.  Look at the chart and see what number you got and match it with the picture.  Emails were send out this morning with mailing instructions.

One Block to swap ... frances

Cheryl's blocks

I made one block for the exchange.

I made 4 blocks for myself.
blocks for me
I didn't use the washers for my blocks.  I appliqued silver material for the blades, instead.  I was thinking that the washers would make a wall hanging too heavy.

Felicity has made one block.

Here is the block that Felicity made.

3 More Blocks

We have two "Lindas" in the group and a Lyn.  Linda Te (both Linda's last names start with T) has made 3 mostly identical blocks to swap.  Here is a photo of one of them.  It's a little fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Moira - One block to swap

Finished my block just under the wire after having to fix a place where I'd goofed on color placement.

I didn't have a washer to lay on top so had to photograph w/o it.

if we stand on our heads we can see it properly

I can fix this one too for you.

It is too late to retake this picture and I can't get it turned so you will have to visualize4 it sideways.  So sorry.

How about if Deana fixes it for you.  Is this better?

Denise and Linda each made one block.

Here is Denise's rotary in bloom:

This one is Linda's:

Lucy is swapping 2 blocks.

Here are the two blocks Lucy is swapping for October.

Finished two blocks

One to keep and one to trade.   I used gray fabric for the washer on mine as I don't have time to go to the hardware store.   Also, on my trade block, I added a bit of batting under the handle to make it not see thru since it crossed over a colored petal.  This is my first swap with the group.

Susan: Just the Washer to Go!

I divided this over three days and it went pretty well. It was finished this morning when my friend Stacey came over with her Halloween towels to applique. There's nothing like sitting with a friend and doing handwork as you chat to make the time fly and finish a block!

Marilyn's Block

This is Marilyn's October Block.

Here is my block for the swap.  I still need to make one to keep.

Lorri's Block

This is my swap block. I didn't have a washer for the pic, but my block is ready to send since we aren't sending the washers anyway.
