House row finished!

I absolutely love this row. It was a lot of work but well worth it.

I still have to find some patches for the flags that I will sew on to the two flag poles.

I decided to applique my tomb stones since that is easier for me. I still need to embroider some names and dates on them.

I love how my church came out and the mountains behind it.

I would like to put some climbing roses on the house furthest to the right, and some flowers in the window boxes. Not sure how I will do that yet.

This has inspired me to do an all houses quilt that I have been putting off.

My absolute favorite row so far. I can see the quilt coming together.

Americana pattern correction

The village house (last pattern in the freedom lane) lists the background fabric as "background" instead of "Sky" like the rest of the row.  It should say "sky" so as to match the background fabric in the entire row.

The small pieces needed for the steeple are NOT included in the cutting instructions, so just cut pieces big enough.

Spring and Americana patterns were sent out!

I finally got both patterns sent out, so watch for them in your emails.  The Americana one is pretty detailed with lots of pieces, so let me know if you find errors so I can share the corrections with everyone.

If you should have received the pattern, but did not, please let me know as I could easily make record keeping errors.

As a reminder, I will not release any patterns for the month of December.  It is usually a difficult time for projects such as this.  We will resume in January.

Hopefully I will get the embellishments on my blocks soon.  My fence is just an ordinary wood fence instead of a picket fence.  My husband made a 3 foot tall wood fence like this when our first grandchild was a toddler and we needed to make sure she stayed in the back yard.  It worked.
I have plans for the embellishments on the fence.

Cathy - Americana - Betsy Sue Ross Row

I've been working my backside off trying to get my new house in order so I can sew again.  Last night, I got my quilting room to this point...

Which means I was finally able to work on my sewing again!!!  So I took some time and got the applique' pieces cut for the Betsy Sue Ross row for the Americana QAL.  We have this one...

They still need a picture in the upper left corner but I couldn't find anything that I like there so that's waiting a bit.  Here's the next one...

I love the little eagles in the corners of the flags.  I'm going to stitch around them with a tan thread to make it look like a hoop.  Here's the last one...

Nancy's Spring Row Fence Hang Up...

My fence is currently short a few posts for a simple and silly reason. It has to do with white-on-white fabric prints. I really like them, but it never fails that when I use them, I manage to sew on the wrong side! So a few posts are set aside awaiting repair. The prints are just kind of hard to distinguish for me. So I'll have to add on to the fence eventually, but it was easy and fun to piece.

My Betsy Ross Sue is from Little Quilts.  This is my favorite Sue pattern and I knew I had to use her. I have never made her in RW&B, so that was a fun change.  I'm enjoying this quilt so much.

Spring fence block

Here is my Spring fence block.  I figured I'd put up the one block.  I'll have to look around & think about embellishments.

Susan: Two Americana Blocks

I made some changes, but forgot one important one, so my blocks are a little wonky and 10.5 x 13 instead of 11.5, It's okay. I'll see what the next row is like and then put a filler in. I hope Deana forgives me, as she knows how I feel about paper-piecing. There would have been a lot worse mistakes if I'd tried that on these blocks!

I have quite a collection of Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam blocks and books, so I looked through and found these two. There will be one more girl, and I don't know if she'll have a flag or maybe some balloons. Makes a cute little parade, I think. I still need to embroider the flag poles, though. I'll do that when the third block is done. There will be a bead/button on back of Sue pinafores, too.

Spring QAL Complete

Fence and gate all done. I also finished all the embroidery. I did some embroidery I didn't care for and had to take apart part of the fence and add new. Mending my fence:)

I must admit, it feels great to have a whole complete row! Til next month.
