Cheryl's blocks
I made 2 blocks this month. I wasn't sure I was going to find time to finish them (too many gifts still not finished for Christmas).
This is the block I'm keeping.
and this is the block I'm swapping.
Talk about last minute. Next month may be the same way, since I'm losing my sewing room for about a week.

September and October rows
When I received the blocks from the September swap, I got blocks from #1 and #3 patterns. I wanted to have one of each, so made a #2 and a #4 to go with them, then sewed them together. Buttons will go where there are no knobs. (the #2 block I measured wrong and so had to add another strip to the top left, so it looks a little different than the original pattern. :-) ). The #3 block is a beautiful green, but it just does not show up well in the picture.
The October row is also missing the centers until the quilt is complete. Don't want to add them until it is quilted.
I am excited to get the November drawing and sharing done and the December instructions and blocks. Those will be added as the time comes. Now I have to decide what to put as spacers between the rows. Such a variety of colors will need some contemplation to choose what will enhance the blocks.

I have done 4 blocks....
I am so relieved to have finished my 4 blocks.... 2 to swap and 2 to keep.
I cut and sewed 1 block back to front but it doesn't matter. I am keeping it.
This one is mine to keep
This one is to SWAP
Another one to SWAP
and this one is for me to keep.
I enjoyed making these blocks. Mixing piecing and applique is fun.
It was an easy block to do....

December row revealed: Pinwheel Flowers
Yup! We are making flowers while it snows in December. This is the "garden" part of the Quilter's Garden.
I tried to make a block that could be made quickly to accommodate the busy holiday season. One block will not take you very long - promise.
I also made options where you can choose a flower pattern that has NO APPLIQUE'. One flower pattern does require an applique' center to cover raw edges, but the other two styles of flowers do not.
More details will be posted on the Dec 1st.
I will be adding buttons or centers to the flowers that don't have them yet. I can't make it to the store until Wednesday, so try to imagine all the flowers with centers.
There are ten flowers in a row for both a queen and a throw size. I split them for the photo.

All of the blocks so far are really cute and look well done, but I love the rick rack on Daryl's blocks and the little flower button on someone else's block. It's so fun to see creativity bloom!!!!

PHYLLIS my block has arrived
Yes Phyllis, this is my local post office. It is about 1/2 a km from my house. But we get that size mail delivered to us. It was in the letterbox when I came home today.
For everyone else who is a bit confused, Phyllis, has checked up where I live.
It is a nice part of central Victoria, Australia. 1/2 an hour North of the Melbourne Tullamarine airport.
Have a look at Hanging Rock, Woodend.

There is a movie called PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK
This is about 7 minutes from me. We are lucky to have lots of wineries in the area as well.
ANYWAY, I RECEIVED MY ROTARIES IN BLOOM BLOCK TODAY.
thankyou Phyllis it is lovely and fits so well with my other blocks.

Finished my Iron Blocks
Here they are~
\
I am keeping the block above and below. I used rickrack instead of bias for the cords. I thought the rickrack gave the irons an old fashioned look. |
I actually made 2 of the blocks above, so I am swapping this block. I didn't see the need to photograph them both since they are identical. |

I
think I totally spaced letting you know about mailing the blocks. I did

Cathy - Steam that Seam Blocks Done
I spent a lot of time last night working on my applique' and managed to finish up my Steam that Seam blocks. I still think my applique' skills need A LOT of work, but these turned out really cute and I'm thrilled to have them done.
This first one I'm keeping...
