Better late than never Block #4

Well it took me a while to come up with something... So I decided to make some african kids playing. I hand appliqued the door on the hut. I can honestly say that I do not like hand applique. I also cheeted and didn't do the rule.. I was going to incorporate it in the border, but I didnt have room. Oh well, at least I am not being graded on this project.

Felicity, I love your block. You are doing such a great job. Your theme has so much potential and you are doing such a fantastic creation. Your dad will LOVE it.

Your quilt is gorgeous. I love the colors and the designs. You are right--you aren't being graded--only by yourself. Keep up the good work.

You could stretch that rule to say the childrens' silhouettes are the negative to the solid background! Great block & it ties together to the rest really well.

I think your newest addition is truly my favorite!! They look silhouetted against an evening or morning sky. I love the angles of their arms and legs as though they are almost dancing to school. Your block shows movement and gives a feeling of excitement.

I was thinking about your theme yesterday and wondering what you were going to do next. You are doing a fabulous job. I think you keep setting the bar a little higher each time. Your quilt is going to be fantastic. I just know it. I'll just bet you could sell that for a good piece of money when you are done with it!
