Daryl

Hello I am Daryl and I blog at Patchouli Moon Studio. I have been blogging since 2008 and quilting since the 1970's when I did it all by hand. I am married to my best friend and we just celebrated our 34th anniversary about a week and a half ago. I have a daughter and a son and one grandson. I live in New Mexico where right now it's chile roasting season and the yummy scent of chile roasting is in the air wherever you go. October will bring 100's of hot air balloons flying in the skies of Albuquerque with the annual International Balloon Fiesta. The posting today on my blog shows 4 small hot air balloon quilts that I just made. (I also blog at another blog where I post the show and tell from other women from the groups I belong to: Daryl's Fiber Arts Blog).
Looking forward to making the blocks and enjoying the swap part too.

Jo, that is some neat history about yourself! My mother, who is in this group went up with her family on her dad's 80th birthday. It was one of the few things he had not ridden in yet, so the family took him.

Love your balloon piece. Your blog name sounds familiar. Think I've been there. There's a big festival in Phoenix - Thunderbird - and I always loved that time of year. When we lived on the golf course, we would often get 3-5 balloons that landed there for technical difficulties. =) One year we went to the festival very early and it was so much fun to watch them heat the balloons and see them fill.

I LOVE your Hot Air Balloons. One of the favorite things I have done is to get a ride in one.
We also have a Hot Air Balloon festival as part of the Freedom Festival in Utah County, Utah for the celebration of July 4. I love the vibrant colors of the balloons. So glad you have joined us.
