More From Dorine
Hello all.
As I've read other's posts, I have decided I need to say more. I am so excited to see all who have joined us from near and far for this mystery project, so I want to share more of who I am in hopes all of you will share more of yourselves as we go along.
I am the mother of four grown children with eight grandchildren. However, I lost the father of my children to cancer three years ago. I have since found a wonderful widower whom I married in September 2009 giving me a new total of 11 children and 35 grandchildren, so far. I plan to make quilts for all these grandchildren when they marry. Our oldest is turning 20 this year, so weddings are not too far in the future! The first grandchild quilt I make will be a bird quilt that my husband's deceased wife painted with fabric paints showing all the state birds and flowers. I want to quilt that one up for our oldest grandchild. I showed it to one of my new daughters-in-law and told her I wanted to quilt it for grandchild number one. She let me know that her son, grandchild, number two, also likes birds, so the mystery quilt is for him.
Here are the fabrics I have gotten so far. With my theme, I will be needing quite a few other colors.

Wow, they are so gorgeous I'd like to pet them. Thanks for sharing.
They are truly gorgeous. I have not completely decided on which fabric I will be using, as I am using my stash.
Love your color choices....
I agree, they really are beautiful. Wow, that's a lot of quilts to make, but if anyone can do it, it would be you.
Love your selection. I was deciding about that same type of color scheme.
Very pretty! I look forward to seeing what comes out of them!
